I have very bad experience as the instructions email direct me to wrong pick up location and nobody pick me up at meeting point. Before 10min expired I use the chat contact Headout email but no body help and I called IBE tour and they said the tour bus already gone as I went to wrong pick up point. I have send all proved photos and chat screenshots to proved I arrived meeting point at 8 am followed by email. It was spoiled my day and I am still not received the refund.

Excellent service. The only thing I think is that they should redistribute the time in each city. 30 minutes more to Segovia and if they want to return the same at 5:45pm, then 30 minutes less to Toledo. It would be perfect!

The attention and compliance with schedules is important. Very attentive to the group and that it was always full. I only suggested to dedicate some time to do some local shopping and that lunch should be in Toledo. Arriving in Segovia at lunchtime makes it very difficult to find an available restaurant and you lose time and still have a good experience.

Ticketing was easy and the excursions were educational and informative. Lydia did a great job. Segovia was quiet and historic as I remember Spain. Toledo seemed overrun by tourists and made me a bit sad. I would add more info about bathroom availability or timing.

We had two guides. Ainoa in Toledo and Segovia. She was very kind, considerate and very clear in her explanations and timing. Monica was our guide in Avila and her explanations were also very clear, although fast because she had to explain twice (English and Spanish). In Avila the visit is very short and we would have liked more time to visit the Cathedral. Excellent service and attention from everyone.

1. We were never given a audio device. You need to provide one for each customer. You aren't thinking about people with trouble hearing. 2.Guides didn't direct you to the correct guide when they split you according to language preference. Very unorganized tour guides. I over heard them talking bad about people in their group. The only time a guide did a head count was when the bus was leaving. When split up they never took a head count. The never looked back to make sure the group was together. It was extraemos hard to keep up. As soon as a guide stopped to explain they never waited dor everyone. They should have noticed half of your group is still reusing to catch up. Because they never checked by the time we reach the guide she's done explaining. They never wanted to repeat. It was horrible. We weren't given enough rime to go to the bathroom. You have to think we aren't the only tourist. Guides don't wait not 1 min past meeting time. They have no problem leaving you behind. Again that's also part of not counting how many people in the group. 3. We were never given time to stop and buy anything. 4. Avila shouldn't even be a part of this tour. You show is 2 things and take us to a store to get some type of candy which is part of our time to explore and after that we go back to the bus. Useless tour! 5. This is a very fast walk thru each town. This tour should not exist. 6. I have used head out last year for my travels and loved my tour guides. This year not so great. 7. I know for a fact other people on this tour have said they called to complain.

We had to use the bathroom very much, and the guide sent us about a kilometer ahead, and we never saw her again. It was just a ride to Toledo and back to Madrid. Toledo was amazing, and we wished we'd spent the night there. The Guide, however, couldn't care less that we were lost or needed the toilet.

What can I see on a Madrid to Segovia day trip?

Alcazar of Segovia

Roman Aqueduct
Segovia Cathedral

Alcazar of Segovia

Disney fans, ever wondered where the inspiration for Cinderella's castle came from? Look no further than the Alcazar of Segovia! It's a tough fortress that has been a royal palace, a jail, and even a military academy! Now, it's a museum filled with suits of armor and royal treasures fit for a princess!

Azoguejo Square

The Azoguejo Square is a big open space right where the aqueduct hits its highest point. It's the town square of Segovia, with a tourist information office and tons of cafes and restaurants. Don't forget to climb the stairs from the square – the views of the aqueduct and the whole city from up there are unreal!

Roman Aqueduct

As you enter Segovia, the first thing you'll see is the impressive Roman aqueduct, the city's main symbol. Built around 112 AD, this well-preserved structure stretches 15km with over 170 arches and was constructed entirely without mortar. It’s like walking under a giant gate from ancient times — a marvel of engineering that even kids will find fascinating!

Segovia Cathedral

Another must-see is the Segovia Cathedral, right in the main square. This Gothic giant is one of the last of its kind in Europe, built way back in the 16th century. This Gothic marvel looks stunning from every angle, with sharp pinnacles and a towering bell. Inside, you'll find 21 beautifully decorated chapels and a peaceful Gothic cloister!

Getting to Segovia

We would recommend taking a Toledo and Segovia tour from Madrid, since Segovia isn’t as easy to reach as Toledo. With a Madrid to Segovia day trip, you don’t have to worry about transportation! Just sit back and relax and enjoy the comfortable round-trip AC coach transfer!

If you would like to visit Segovia on your own, here's how you can get there!

Bus:

  • The most budget-friendly option is taking the Avanza bus from Moncloa station.
  • Take line 3 (yellow line) or line 6 (circular line).
  • The ride takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes, costing around €4-5 each way.
  • The bus station is in the city center, and it's only a short 10 minute walk to the aqueduct!

Train (AVE):

  • The fastest way to get to Segovia is by AVE high-speed train from Chamartín Station.
  • You can take the light blue Line 1 or dark blue Line 10.
  • The train ride takes only 30 minutes. Keep in mind that the train station is located outside the city center, so you’ll have to take a taxi to Segovia’s Azoguejo Square.

Things to know about your Madrid to Segovia day trip

  • Spain uses the Euro (€). Credit cards are widely accepted, but it's always handy to have some cash on hand for smaller purchases or taxis.
  • The specialty in Segovia is ‘Judiones de la Granja'. You must try this dish made of white beans, cooked with traditional ingredients like chorizo. It is a comforting and flavorful dish.
  • Segovia is compact and walkable, but taxis are readily available if needed.
  • The ‘San Marcos viewpoint’ in Segovia is the best spot to take photos! You get a perfect vantage point to click the medieval buildings of the city.
  • If you arrive by train, you’ll need to take a local bus, taxi, or walk from the Segovia-Guiomar station to the city center. Which will take 15-20 minutes by bus.
  • Siestas (afternoon naps) are a common practice in Spain. Many shops and attractions in Segovia close for a siesta in the afternoon, typically between 2pm and 5pm!
